After teaching at a number of schools, she was Prioress at St. Walburga Monastery, and worked at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY ending her tenure there as Chairwoman of the Department of Pastoral Ministry. Most recently she was Infirmary Coordinator at St. Walburga Monastery. Born in Bayonne, she received a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and a master’s degree from Catholic University. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Daniel Sharkey; and her siblings, Daniel, Hubert, James and Kathleen Sharkey, Ann Hurley and Mary Ives. Sr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Agnes Sharkey; many extended nieces, nephews and the Benedictine community.
