BAYONNE – Children aged 7 to 17 are welcomed to audition for the Van Horn Performance Theater production of Les Miserables, School Edition, on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon and Monday, Aug. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., 1054 Ave. C, Bayonne.
“All children must be able to read, as this musical will require a lot of memorization,” said Erin Van Horn, director and owner.
Actors should come prepared to audition with 32 bars of song from musical theater, with sheet music, and one 30-second monologue.
Rehearsals are expected to take place on Sundays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., although the time may change based on the cast members’ schedules.
There is a tuition for the musical production workshop, Van Horn said. Scholarship applications will be available for families in financial need. Costumes will be partially supplied.
Performances are set for December.
