All Saints Episcopal Day School honors students for outstanding achievements

As the 2014-2015 school year came to an end at All Saint Episcopal Day School, Hoboken, various students were recognized for their achievements.

Sixth-grader Sam May was recognized for being the top-scorer on the 5th-6th Grade Math Olympiad team, also scoring in the top 10 percent overall internationally.

Math Olympiads: For participation and achievement within the National Math Olympiad Program.

7th-8th Grade Team:

Academic Achievement Award: For actions that demonstrate a sincere love of learning. Recipient: Afia Oduro-Manu, Grade 7

Mitakuye Oyasin Award: For actions that demonstrate a nurtured sense of one’s own spirituality and an understanding that we are all related. Recipient: Lila Wojnicki, Kindergarten

Mission Accomplished Award: For actions that demonstrate the integration and embodiment of all aspects of the school’s mission statement. Recipient: Sarah Hurley, Grade 7

The Butterfly Award: For actions that demonstrate an amazing metamorphosis and a desire to spread one’s wings. Recipient: Braden Peters, Grade 3

Environmental Awareness Award: For actions that demonstrate a sense of responsibility for this planet and gratitude for its beauty. Recipient: Chinli Ong, Grade 3

Bound and Determined Award: For actions that demonstrate a determination to do one’s best and to never give up. Recipient: Michelle Arauz, Grade 4

Happy Feet Dance Award: For actions that demonstrate a commitment to the art of dance. Recipient: Nolan Weathers, Grade 1

Musical Excellence Award: For actions that demonstrate a love for and dedication to music. Recipient: Mazin Attia, Grade 4

Commitment to Fitness Award: For demonstrating the initiative to improve upon one’s fitness level on a daily basis. Recipient: Emily Aarts, Grade 5

Working Artist Award: For actions that demonstrate artistic vision and creativity, accompanied by the hard work needed to create beautiful works of art. Recipient: Daniela Rivera, Grade 6

Latin Award: For outstanding achievement on the National Latin Exam. Recipients: Diana Kazarian, Grade 7, and Lucy Walkowiak, Grade 8

Drama Award: For actions that demonstrate integrity in performances both on and off stage. Recipient: Tess May, Grade 3

Sandwich Squad Award: For actions that demonstrate a deep understanding of service through regular volunteerism in Sandwich Squad. Recipient: Kyla Harvey, Grade 2
