To the Editor:
The Bayonne citizens spoke by voting for an elected School Board. Now, we want to hear from the candidates running; the people who want our vote come November. Our children are our most precious resource and we want to hear from you. Communication is what has been lacking dearly. This is an open invitation to the Bayonne Board of Education candidates to answer the following: 1) What inspired you to run? 2) What are your priorities if elected? 3) What do you feel the district does well and what could it be doing better? 4) What is your special-needs experience (all down the line- Autism/LDs/Mds?)? 5) Are you aware that Bayonne does indeed have a parent-led Special Education Parent Advisory Committee, and would you be willing to meet at a pre-November meeting of the SEPAC? 6) Are you aware of IEPs and a 504 and IDEA? What is your experience with them? 7) Are you aware that Bayonne has 1900 IEPs, and that is the public schools alone? Thoughts? I will be posting the answers on the Facebook page. It is a public forum. Everyone is free to join: Facebook page: Bayonne Board of Education Candidates https://www.facebook.com/groups/804032516377238/?fref=nf.
