Thanks owed for great success

To The Editor:

On Saturday, October 17 the city of Bayonne held the 2nd Annual Bergen Point Fall Festival. The crisp and clear fall weather drew an incredible crowd of 4,000 to the streets of Bergen Point. After experiencing such great success in its inaugural year, it was hard to believe it would or could be topped! Nevertheless, the participants in the dog costume contest doubled, there were more street vendors, and participating merchants gained more exposure and business as the afternoon progressed. Families with children enjoyed rides and games, auto enthusiasts were able to enjoy a car show, and those with an appetite could enjoy a wide variety of eats, all while listening to an excellent lineup of bands.
Undoubtedly, this was a great day for our community which required a significant amount of coordination and cooperation. Many thanks are extended to Terrence Malloy and Dee Dee Bottino, the City’s UEZ coordinators, for working with vendors and local merchants to make the Fall Festival possible. Thank you also to the participating vendors, merchants, and sponsors for taking the time to do something special for our community. Finally, and most important, I would like to personally extend my gratitude to all who attended. Your support not only ensures that these types of events will continue well into the future, but also help as we work to solidify Bayonne’s strong sense of community.
I look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s Fall Festival!
