The historic Hudson Reporter building at 14th and Washington streets is up for sale.
The Hudson Reporter newspaper group, which publishes eight weekly community newspapers in nine towns — Hoboken, Bayonne, Jersey City, North Bergen, Secaucus, Weehawken, Union City, West New York, and Guttenberg — as well as three glossy magazines, will be moving to a space more efficient for our operations in the near future.
The former bank building was purchased in 2002 by the Reporter, which had previously worked out of offices across the street at 1321 Washington St. The building — located on one of the mile-square city’s busiest and most visible corners — was renovated and a few unique amenities were added for newspaper operations.
The building’s listing describes it as a “Landmark corner building prime retail location with ultra high end housing in the immediate area – less than a five minute walk from almost 1000 luxury residences in Hudson Tea, 1450 Washington St. & 1500 Garden St. alone. Building is currently 3 stories with potential expansion for 2 more floors. Possible uses include high end restaurant or boutique fashion store. Square footage of 3000 per floor, plus mezzanine. The building sits on a large 32 x 95 lot.”
The building is listed by Dan Voehringer of Remax Gold Coast Real Estate. He can be reached at 201-795-5200.
