Eduardo Gonzalez for the 5th Ward

Dear Editor:
We are nearing the end of the campaign season and I have been honored to meet and speak to hundreds of neighbors and residents of the 5th ward.
Everyone that I have encountered has a love for this town, from the seniors at Fox Hill, the buildings of the western part of town to the brownstones on Bloomfield, Garden and Park. The resounding message from everyone is a lack of common sense and practicality from our government officials. The policies that are being put in place are not practical, from the bollards on the corners that do not allow quick drop-off, to allowing a 24-hour deli on the corner of 10th and Bloomfield that will affect the character and charm of the neighborhood.
After over 8 years, it is time for a change and a common sense approach. It is time to stop taxing residents through excessive bonding, draconian parking enforcement and a decrease in our quality of life.
When you cast your vote for Eduardo Gonzalez, you will get a positive return on your investment. I will work for you and ensure that your tax dollars are spent efficiently and in the best manner possible to improve your quality of life.
It is time for new leadership and a new direction. I have a proven track record of delivering positive results. I am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with degrees in Economics and Business Administration.
Also, as Board President of Elysian Charter School I lead a team of parents, educators, staff and community leaders in securing a new space for our school. I have served on boards that have not been able to tax their way out of problems, and through cooperation we have been able to increase services.
If you want improved quality of life, tax dollars spent effectively, a practical, common sense approach to government, then vote 1D for Eduardo Gonzalez.

Thank you,
Eduardo Gonzalez
5th Ward Candidate
