Funeral mass took place Nov. 18 at St. Aloysius Church, Jersey City, for Diane K. Murray, Esq., 66. She died Nov. 13 in Perth Amboy. A lifelong Jersey City resident, she was born to the late Helen D. (Bergman) and William J. Murray, Esquire. She was a graduate of the Academy of St. Aloysius, St. Peter’s College and Seton Hall Law School. She was instrumental in establishing the Hudson County Division of Consumer Protection which enforces the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and established her law practice in Jersey City. Known to many of her supporters as the “Skull”, she won a bronze medal in the World Sombo Championship. She was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, and helped countless people who came into her life.
She was predeceased by her son William J. Murray-O’Grady and her sister, Joan. She is survived by her sister, Deborah M. Murray, her brother-in-law Otis H. Parker, a sister, Sara A. Murray and her former husband, Harold V. O’Grady. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
