JERSEY CITY – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the Pulaski Skyway will be closed in both directions this weekend for reconstruction of drainage structures and other construction activities as the rehabilitation of the historic 83-year-old bridge advances.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, November 6, through 5 a.m. Monday, November 9, NJDOT’s contractor, CCA Civil Inc. is scheduled to close the Pulaski Skyway southbound at the off-ramp to I-280/Route 7 and Route 1&9 southbound for, drainage work, milling and paving and other related work. The Skyway southbound also will be closed overnight from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday mornings for about two weeks beginning on Tuesday, November 10.
The full closure includes most on and off ramps, including the southbound on ramp from Tonnele Circle. The ramp from the Route 139 westbound to I-280/Route 7 and Route 1&9 southbound will remain open.
This full weekend closure of the Skyway is for the reconstruction of drainage facilities at the western terminus of the structure and for other related activities. NJDOT has created a video that shows options for alternate routes to help motorists navigate the closures, which can be found on the NJDOT YouTube channel.
