NORTH BERGEN – A crowd of thousands of local residents is expected at North Bergen’s annual Winterfest celebration on Thursday, Dec 3. The township’s largest annual event, Winterfest begins at 6 p.m. with a holiday parade from 85th street and Bergenline Avenue down to 76th street. That entire area of ten city blocks is set aside for the festivities, including rides and games for kids, performances by North Bergen school choruses, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a petting zoo and horse and buggy rides, food, music, and tons of fun for the whole family.
In addition, North Bergen will for the first time hold an additional mini-fest at two locations downtown on Monday, Dec. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Mini-Winterfest will feature free photos with Santa Claus for all children, free rides, games, face painting, goody-bags and much more.
The Mini-Winterfest will take place in the Food Basics Parking Lot, 1425 Kennedy Blvd., and at the Nutrition Center, 1441 45th St.
Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the town commissioners invite all residents to attend the free events.
