Coming off their biggest win of the year, the (4-6) Bengals took on their next JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division challenge as they faced the (3-7) Chargers. Trading scores in the early going, the Chargers’ Ryan Ballance and the Bengals’ Ian Giron each notched TD’s with the Chargers’ Harsh Easwar’s two point grab giving his squad a slim 8-6 lead. Staying toe to toe, the Chargers took a 16-6 advantage with Ryan Ballance hauling in a TD and two point catch. Looking to pull away, the Chargers got bitten by the turnover bug as the Bengals’ Alejandro Cifuentes rang up a “pick six” and a two point play to make it 16-14, Chargers. While the defense stepped up, the Bengals’ offense couldn’t get any footing and the Chargers took advantage as Tristen Johnson took over the bout by notching two TD’s and four extra points in the second half while Easwar also kicked in with a TD grab as the Chargers surged to a 38-14 lead. Returning to their playmakers, Andres Giron, Kyle Arano, and Kasper Hooks, the Bengals moved the ball until a swarming Chargers’ secondary, led by Chris Ballance and the Piscopo brothers Matt and Mike, ended the threat and sealed the Charger’s 38-14 victory.
