SHEERIN, LORETTA

A funeral mass was offered at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, Hoboken, on Feb. 6 for Loretta Sheerin, 76. She passed away peacefully at her home in Toms River surrounded by her family. Born in Jersey City, Loretta always considered herself a lifelong resident of Hoboken before moving to Toms River in 2014. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Sheerin “Jack” in 2009; a brother, Paul; and her brother-in-law, Rev. Msgr. James Sheerin (2015). Surviving are her brother, John Marzocca; a sister, Linda Kemp; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sternath. Loretta shared a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, Anthony, John, Samantha, Jeane’, Jaime, Rita, Courtney, Helen, Susan, and Evelyn; and with their children as well.
Loretta was employed for 40 years with Baron’s Pharmacy on Washington Street as their personal bookkeeper. Entrepreneurship was an important part of her life in Hoboken. She was a business manager and co-owner of the Paper Boutique at the Path Terminal in Hoboken, Sorkins Stationary formerly of 4th and Washington streets, and the Willows Restaurant at 3rd Street and Willow Avenue.
