BAYONNE – Weather permitting, the Bayonne Bridge will close from 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 through 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, to accommodate ongoing construction work on the Raise the Roadway project, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey announced.
The closing was scheduled in conjunction with other regional agencies to minimize traffic impacts.
The bridge will then remain open through Sunday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 15 (President’s Day), and will resume its regular schedule of weekday closures at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16.
During the week, the bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and overnight from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. On certain weekdays, the Bayonne Bridge will open a half-hour earlier – at 4:30 a.m. – to provide an alternate route for drivers affected by 4:30 to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge.
