69, of Bayonne passed away on May 22, 2016 at the Alaris Health Nursing Home in Kearny with his family by his side. Eugene, known to many as “Gene”, was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident. Gene was a United States Army veteran who proudly began serving his country in May of 1966 that included time spent in Korea. He was honorably discharged in June of 1967 due to the death of his father and it was at that time he took on the responsibility to support his mother and family. Gene worked as a Mail Handler for the USPS for over 25 years. Gene was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Jean (nee: Surawski) Niemczyk, and his brothers Joseph and Edward Niemczyk. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert Niemczyk, his daughter, Lorie Niemczyk, his former spouse, Patricia (nee: Stanislawski) Niemczyk, and many nieces and nephews.
