Still in search of their first victory, the (0-3) Red Wings faced off against the (1-2) Blackhawks in a week three JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey bout. Taking a 2-0 lead off two goals by Aaliyana Cifuentes, the Blackhawks seemed unstoppable. That quick start was soon erased by the Red Wings defensive stalwart William Hulsman who switched roles and took over on offense by netting his first two goals of the season off assists by Mariam Rasslan to knot the game at 2 all. The tie didn’t last long as Anthony Baez racked up five straight assists as he battled the ball to Aaliyana Cifuentes (4 goals) and David Matos (1 goal) to put the Blackhawks well ahead at 7-2. In an effort to muster some offense, the Red Wings blasted away with Khaled Rasslan and Alexandra Hulsman sailing passes up court. With five minutes remaining, the effort finally paid off as Khaled Rasslan worked a pass to Kailey Delauter who made it 7-3, Blackhawks. Inspite of the Red Wings all-out offensive blitz, the Blackhawks’ Steven Gulli held the defensive fort to secure the Hawks’ 7-3 victory.
