HOPFNER, TERESEA

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. July 27 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Manhattan, Kansas, for Teresa “Terry” Hopfner, 90, formerly of Hoboken. She died July 20.
She was born and grew up in Hoboken. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Joseph Connell and Catherine Marie Hoster; her siblings, Catherine Connell, Mary Connelly (her husband, Michael Connelly), Daniel Connell (his wife Elsie Miller Connell), Edward Connell (his wife Eileen Dougherty Connell), Thomas Connell (his wife Carol Vena Connell), Margaret Finnegan (her husband James Finnegan), Ellen Gorman (her husband Edward Gorman), Anne Kocian (her husband Jerry Kocian), her son Robert and her husband Walter R. Hopfner.
Teresa graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1943. On June 29, 1946, she married Walter R. Hopfner.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Philip Woodford, Danielle and Bob Goodband; her grandchildren, Paxton and Rachael Schneider, Jennifer and Mark Tait, Alexandra and Shawn Fuller, and Brady Topliff; her great-grandchildren, Isaac and Kehra Schneider, Siena, John, William, Mark and Hannah Tait, Elizabeth and Kian Fuller; her sister-in-law Joan Terry, and many nieces and nephews.
Family members will receive visitors at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation on Tuesday, July 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. that evening. Burial will follow at Ft. Riley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Hills Breadbasket, the Manhattan Public Library (for the purchase of large-print books), or Homecare and Hospice of Manhattan and left in care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
