JERSEY CITY – Several Quinnipiac University students are taking advantage of an opportunity that only comes around once every four years, and for some, only once in a lifetime.
As part of a two-week seminar program, the students are in Cleveland participating in The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars’ Republican National Convention Seminar. The students, being led by Scott McLean, a professor of political science at Quinnipiac, include Ashley Nally-Nagel of Jersey City.
The students are taking part in a rigorous academic seminar this week, and will experience the convention by working with the media and in-party organizations and interest groups,” McLean said. “The experience and professional contacts they received at the convention often leads to more professional opportunities later. Most importantly, the students have a wonderful time discovering and honing their civic-participation skills and understanding of the political parties.”
