Jazz entertainment and wine were the stars of the night as Secaucus residents danced and mingled on Friday, Sept. 9 as part of the free Secaucus Wine Tasting, an annual town social event.
Residents tasted many different brands and styles of wine at the pool until 11 p.m. A local restaurant donated the wine, and singer Hunter Hayes, who lives in Secaucus, performed jazz music all night long.

Fallon came with many friends. “We’re all having a great time, because we love Hayes,” she said. “We came to see him and his son perform three years in a row, and they do a wonderful job.” Hayes’ group came on around 6:30 p.m. and stayed for the whole night.
“I love Secaucus,” said Sergio LaGrasta, a resident since 1973. “I came out tonight, even though my wife Linda stayed home.”
Several members of the Indian Caucus of Secaucus came to enjoy the night.
“We always come when something is going on in town. This is a great town,” said resident of 10 years Juana Gomez, who was there with her sister and a friend. “Chardonnay is my favorite.”
Resident Michelle Harvey has only lived in town for four years, but said she loves the festivities in Secaucus. “It’s a fun town,” she said. She brought one of her co-workers who she also brought to the 4th of July celebration. “I love the movies in the park, the drive-in movies, and I came to the showing of ‘Jaws’ in the pool. My son loves it.”
That night, her son Ty-Rell Dickerson played basketball across the street at the Recreation Center.
