SYP, FLORENCE (nee: Altomonte)

96, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Florence worked as a Teller at First Fidelity Bank for many years before retiring. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Rosary Society, St. Peter’s Prep Mothers Club, a past president of Holy Family Mothers Club, a past president of Mater et Filius of St. Peter’s Prep, a teacher of CCD at St. Andrew’s Church, she served as coordinator of the “Prime of Life Senior Bus Trips” and also volunteered to drive trucks at Bayonne’s Military Ocean Terminal during WWII. Florence was the wife to the late Mitchel Syp and mother to Barbara Kirk and her late husband John, Mitchel M. Syp and his wife Joan and to Mark Syp and his wife Kathy. Florence was also the grandmother to John T. Kirk and wife Arlette, Robin M. Kirk, Krista M. Syp, Mitchel J. Syp and wife Lisen, Bridget B. Beal and husband Isaac, Mark J. Syp and Timothy M. Syp as well as being great grandmother to Pippa, Mickey, Oliver, Benjamin and Frances. She was pre-deceased by her siblings Fred Altomonte, Frances Peveler and her husband William and Jean Aloi and her husband Ralph and surviving Florence is a host of other family members and friends. In lieu of any flowers the family requests that donations be made in Florence’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Association.
