Three arrested near Holland Tunnel with loaded guns and ballistic vests

JERSEY CITY — Three people with loaded guns, knives and ballistic vests were reportedly stopped at the entrance of the Lincoln Tunnel on June 21 after Port Authority Police noticed their vehicle had a cracked windshield.
Police made the stop at around 7:40 a.m. at the New Jersey toll Plaza and found that the vehicle contained rifles and handguns, some of them loaded.
The police arrested two 50-year-old men and one woman in her 20s.
“Astute Port Authority Police work led to the stoppage of a vehicle on the New Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel this morning, leading to the arrest of three individuals from the state of Pennsylvania on a variety of charges related to illegal possession of guns and ammunition. At this time, the investigation is continuing, but the agency does not believe the incident is terrorism-related,” said Port Authority spokesperson Joe Pentangelo. Other news sources reported that the situation may have been related to drugs.
