Saving money

To the Editor:

Here are examples of three entities and their cost-saving devices. I will leave it up to you to decide whether or not “the end justifies the means.”
St. Henry’s: continue to keep the church vacant except for a few hours on Sunday and “cram” the parishioners from closed churches into the nearest empty room for daily mass. In this way, the recent $1 million dollars in renovations will last forever!
B.O.E.: continue the irrational transfers and unjust reassignments of experienced faculty in order to spur leaving the district or taking early retirement depriving the Bayonne children of their expertise/dedication/caring. A new teacher will receive a lower salary!
City Hall: continue the wizardry with the local and school budget, namely, the prior administration said “no” money and then the new one (mayor) settled the teacher’s contract (his position) in one month. I guess “redundancy” is just a word in the dictionary and a “thank you” is perfunctory only!
After reading the above, does anyone – churchgoers, parents/students/teachers, citizens – really truly believe that “Bayonne Is Moving Forward?”
