Dear Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people and organizations that have supported the need for a state and federal investigation in the death of my grandson, Michael Anglin. Rev. Herbert Daughtry, Rev. Henry Maxwell, Rev. Edward Allen, Councilman Harvey Smith, Rev. Joseph Jones, Rev. Ralph Brower and Bobby Jackson. The many organizations that supported the inquiry into the death, Monumental Baptist Church and Bethesda Baptist Church and the Coalition for the money that was raised for my grandson’s funeral cost. My family and I are personally disappointed in the Jersey City Councilpersons Thomas DeGise, Robert Cavanaugh, Mary Donnelly, Arnold Bettinger, Rev. Fernando Colon and Mellisa Holloway who voted against the resolution that asked for an independent investigation by state and federal government. We thank Councilman Harvey Smith for his yes vote and continuous support. We thank Lincoln High School, Ferris High School and Snyder High School for their support and awareness to the city. We can’t believe that Councilwoman Mellisa Holloway who also represents the ward we all live in. We never received a telephone call from Ms. Holloway up until the time we went to the council meeting last week. To add insult to injury, she had the nerve to say that my son-in-law, Michael’s father, spoke to her after the meeting; this is an absolute lie. He never said anything to her on that night or any other night as she claimed in the newspaper. Again thank you for your support and God Help Councilwoman Mellisa Holloway. We will pray for her. Bishop William Picket Grandfather of Michael Anglin
