Who says you can’t mix politics with fun?

Dear Editor: On Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. a benefit was held on behalf of former Governor of New Jersey and former Hoboken resident, Jim Florio. A crowd of approximately 100 citizens of Hoboken gathered at Hoboken’s Historical Elks Club on Washington Street. Some of the familiar faces present included past dignitaries of Hoboken. Some of the issues addressed by Jim Florio concerned Social Security, education and environmental policies. The floor was open to all for questions, concerns and comments. The night’s festivities included entertainment by musician/singer Bruce Stephen Foster and an array of excellent food and beverages. The evening ended with coffee and dessert. A good time was had by all that attended. Mary Astore
