UPDATE: PATH train no longer skipping 23rd Street Station; security tightened

HUDSON COUNTY — The Port Authority resumed PATH service on its 33rd Street Line – which has been down on weekends for repairs– beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19. In the wake of the explosion in Chelsea on Saturday night, which injured 29 people, PATH trains were initially bypassing the 23rd Street Station due to the ongoing police investigation. But as of Monday afternoon, the trains began stopping there again.
Trains will also continue to make normal stops at the Christopher, 9th, 14th and 33rd Street stations.
For traffic alerts and advisories, travelers are encouraged to sign up for PATH alerts at http://www.pathalerts.com/ or follow PATH on Twitter @PATHTrain.
Security was heightened at the stations Monday morning as police searched for one of the suspects in the terror plot, Ahmad Khan Rahami of New Jersey.
