I resolve to… What Union City and WNY residents hope to accomplish this year

It’s a new year and a new millennium, so to most, it’s the perfect opportunity for change. Some Union City and West New York residents have set goals for 2001. Here is what a few said.

Mary Gonzalez, West New York

“My resolution is to live my life as I see it fit, meaning to live by my own principles and not worry what other people say. I also want to take more risks and open up to opportunities that come my way without fear.”

Sue Garavi, West New York

“I need to go on a diet this year, because I ate too much over the holidays. I also want to try to have a better year than last year, even though last year was okay.”

Carmello Pellot, Union City

“Resolutions never come true. I don’t make resolutions, because I take life day by day because you never know what’s coming or going to happen.”

Rosario Salvador, Union City

“My only resolution is to quit smoking this year, because it’ll be better for my health. I’m getting older, and it’s time for me to stop. I was 18 when I started, and now I’m 62. My husband died of Emphysema, so I should know better.”
