Vote for life-long union member Glenn Cunningham for mayor

Dear Editor:

Brothers and sisters of the Labor Movement, I ask you to support life-long union member brother Glenn Cunningham.

Glenn, embarked on a career in public service as a enlisted man in the United States Marine Corps, he then labored as rank and file union member while employed by Western Electric in Jersey City. As a decorated Jersey City Police Officer, Glenn was an active member of the Police Officers Benevolent Association and the Superior Officers association.

Always at the forefront in the war to protect the rights of working families, Glenn never shirked in his dedication, to enforce the first source agreement for all residents and workers in Jersey City. A Former Presidential appointee, to the office of Federal Marshal, Glenn fought for union signatory contractors and vendors, and men and women of union shops. Glenn faithfully worked with collective bargaining agreements putting the residents of Jersey City first, and supporting organized labor at every turn. He was a labor friendly Freeholder and City Councilman.

Brother Cunningham enjoys the support of many local unions and their rank and file members. During the last 40 years Glenn has held fidelity to his working class roots and the values of fair play and honesty, instilled in him by his parents and family.

I personally endorse the Mayoral Candidacy of Glenn Cunningham and his diverse team of running mates, who are committed to ensuring the rights of workers to a fair workplace in our city. The credo and motto of the Marine Corps is “Semper Fidelis,” which means always faithful, these values of the Corps have laid the foundation of Glenn’s character.

As Mayor Glenn will continue to be faithful to organized unions and their families in Jersey City.

Glenn Cunningham often quotes our late and great President Franklin Roosevelt by saying, “If I could, I would join a labor union today!”

With Fraternity and Solidarity,
Brother Joseph J. Gallo, Jr.
