Dear Friends of the Weehawken Library:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all visitors and participants in the first Taste of Weehawken fundraiser to benefit cultural programs and historic preservation at the historic preservation at the Weehawken Public Library Multi-Media Center.
We are happy to report that the event was a tremendous success, with over 350 visitors gathering in the Food Court at Lincoln Harbor on April 24 to sample the fine cuisine of 20 restaurants from Weehawken and neighboring communities.
This outpouring of support, both from citizens and the business community, and the funds raised will greatly support additional library programming to serve our community.
First, we would like to thank our residents and friends who purchased tickets to the event. Equally important were the restaurants and food service establishments who participated. They were: Arthur’s Landing, Spirito Grill, Dry Dock Restaurants, The Chart House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Kawabae, Horizon Cruises, Weehawken High School, Anthony David Gourmet Specialties, Kings Supermarkets, The City Bistro, Sparrow’s, The Brass Rail, Kitchen Catering, Beyti Kebab Restaurant, Amanda’s, The Madison Bar & Grill and La Isla.
Special thanks go to the Weehawken High School, which featured its culinary program, as well as the High School Jazz Ensemble and Pierro Romano who performed throughout the event, as well as the Ikenobo Ikabana Society of New Jersey, which demonstrated and displayed the centuries old Japanese flower arranging tradition.
On behalf of the Library Board’s Trustees, we appreciate your continued support and contribution to our library, and we look forward to seeing you next year at the Second Annual Taste of Weehawken.
