The Back Page Music

Music changes the world and the people around.
Different music changes different people’s view of the world
Different music is different people; it molds their lives making it one, that’s why
Different music puts different people together
In Hoboken we are different from each other because we see things differently so it makes us a community
What if we all liked the same music, what if we all liked the same things
We would be together but we wouldn’t be us.
We wouldn’t be the dancer, the poet, the gymnast, the writer,
We would be like robots doing what everybody else wants us to do and never what we want to do.
Would you like to be locked up inside yourself screaming from the inside to be let out?
Music helps you; it builds a part of you that forgets things into something that makes you remember little things.
It releases you and it captures you at the same time, trying to make you understand that you can change things, you can make your own decisions, you can live the life you wish to have.
Music is a gateway to the center of yourself; it makes you want to live more or die in its arms.
Sometimes I want music to take me over and make me a new person with a different life, but sometimes I close my eyes and I can see myself in my new life – yet it’s only for awhile.
Music takes me away from this world.
Sometimes it makes me realize things about myself that I never knew existed within me.
Music has the power to make you happy and it has the power to make you sad, but music is one of the keys to finding oneself.
In order to find oneself, one has to accept the key to open the door to one’s possibilities.
