The writing is on the wall

Dear Editor:

Earth plus carbon dioxide (Co2) equals global warming. Here is some more math for you! The United States contains only 4% of the entire world’s population, but produces 25% of the world’s pollution.

With President George W. Bush not agreeing and/or supporting the Kyoto Agreement, countries like India and China are outraged. And with the 2.3 billion dollar cut for global warming research, is there data we should be concerned about? How about this, in Venezuela, they had six glaciers. They now currently have two. Even in our own United States, in Montana, the whole collection of glaciers at the National Glacier Park will be wiped out entirely in 2070! Scary, isn’t it?

In conclusion, I believe this is a serious issue in which we should answer back by helping our land and air. I, as a 7th grade student, believe that children and adults alike should live in a healthy environment. We must start planning for the healthy environment with research, not cutbacks. President George W. Bush, I’m referring to you!
