Dear Editor:
It is an outrage that the Weehawken Reporter buries on page 3 news that the planning board approved the first massive office towers to be built on Weehawken’s waterfront in over a decade.
What is more outrageous is the biased nature of the reporting with no quotations whatsoever indicating the existence of strong local citizen opposition. Even more outrageous is the fact that the reporter failed to include a single interview of its original source for the story: Friends of the Weehawken Waterfront (FWW).
Jim Hague learned of the approval from a tip from FWW, which attended the approval hearings, is probably the largest civic organization in town, and is the most active local organization on waterfront issues, representing many hundreds of Weehawken families that oppose over-development along our waterfront.
Your readers deserve to hear both sides of a controversial action such as this. This is what news should be about.
