Saying good-bye to a wonderful team of trustees

Dear Editor:

Recently, I reluctantly resigned from the Board of Trustees of the Jersey City Free Public Library.

My tenure on the Board has truly been a rewarding experience and I would love to continue to serve as a Trustee.

Unfortunately, personal commitments prevent me from giving our Library system the attention it deserves.I was proud to serve as part of a great team of Trustees. With their courage, intelligence, and compassion, we were able to achieve great improvements in library operations; from restoring confidence in our fiscal office to automating the library’s collection.

As I have written before, I was very pleased when Mayor Cunningham appointed his wife, Sandra, to the Board. Having worked with Sandra for only a brief time, it’s clear that her sagacity, wit, and humanity will be invaluable assets to the Board. In addition, her presence underscores the Mayor’s personal commitment to the Library. As I leave, it’s comforting to know that our library is in such good hands.
