Dear Editor:
I was honored to have served on the City Council when Helen was Council President. She served that position with dignity and honor. Two months ago, 27 guys got together to talk about old times. Helen was supposed to be our honored guest but just before our meeting we got a call from Helen. She wasn’t feeling well but she was so sorry she couldn’t make it! We talked to her, and each of us told her how much we cared for her. Later, when flowers were delivered we wished they could have been presented in person because we would have given her a standing ovation.
Now Helen is gone but she will never be forgotten. Her memory and good deeds will live on in all of us who knew her. Helen was born, raised and lived in Hoboken her entire life. Helen was Hoboken, and we will miss her.
Thanks for your friendship.
Thanks for the memories.
