Weehawken, a presence in cyberspace

Dear Editor:

I was happy to see last week’s article on the new Weehawken Board of Education web site. The site is well organized, easy to use and packed with useful information. Congratulations to Mr. Calligy for doing a great job!

Weehawken is developing quite a presence in cyberspace for a small town. In addition to the Board of Education, our local Volunteer First Aid Squad has a public web site (www.wvfas.org), and the Weehawken Historic Commission offers online access to pictures and documents recording the town’s past at The Weehawken Time Machine (www.weehawkenhistory.org).

I am pleased to announce yet another Weehawken web site, www.weehawken-nj.net, which offers general information about Weehawken, including links to bus and ferry schedules, local traffic information, lists of important phone numbers, voter registration forms and a community bulletin board allowing neighbors to connect with each other online.

I invite all Weehawken residents to visit this new site and meet their fellow Weehawken-ites in cyberspace.
