It simply feels right

Dear Editor:

Congratulations to the Stevens Institute for coming up with such an innovative plan for the waterfront. The Center for Maritime Systems is an amazing and imaginative idea which would add variety to our dream of a continuous walkway on the waterfront. How exciting it would be to have the walkway go around this creative small structure that is not at all blocking our view of New York. I am always running along this thoroughfare and the short distance that this building would take up would add greatly to my run. One of the things about the Liberty Park walkway that I feel is less than desirable is that it is just one long continuous run along the same path.

Bringing a center that adds such a high level of scholarship continues the innovative place that this city has taken over the years. This building that you propose is not a huge complex of high-rises and would, in my opinion, complement and enhance the walk along our mile-long city. I truly hope this wonderful idea of yours is built and having listened to the thoughts of the few who question its merits, I would ask that they try very hard to look again at your vision. To me it just simply feels right. And thanks Mayor Roberts for taking a view that continues the future progress of Hoboken.
