You Let Me Out

You downed your coffee
You made that train, lateness was not yours
Plans you made, for today, tomorrow and the next
You let me out, as you walked in

Rushing in, you wasted no time
Up the stairs, no looking back
For the love of man, you got more strength
And yet; our paths never even crossed

Danger was there, you did not yield
The threat was real, you smiled at it
Just like a family, you went head on
You took the fall, for another life

From afar you came, your blood you gave
Your days, your nights; no longer yours
Stomachs you fed, compassion you shared
Yes there was time, to give a smile

I knew you not, yet cry I did
The magic of you, is here to stay
You touched my life, then went away
These tears for you, have made all stronger
