Dear Editor:
On Friday, June 21, 2002 the HOPES Head Start program had their End of the Year Graduation ceremony at Pier A. The theme for our event was the American Flag. This was a day filled with sun and fun were the children had the opportunity to march in a parade from the Rue building on 3rd and Garden to Pier A park showing their patriotism dressed in red, white and blue. The children enjoyed a day filled with games, face painting, a magician, hot dogs, fresh fruit, juice and ice pops. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who made this event possible: the City of Hoboken Officials, the Hoboken Fire Department, the Hoboken Police Department and the Hoboken volunteer Ambulance Corp. I can’t forget to mention a very special thanks to Carmelo Garcia, Director of Human Services who has always been a friend to our program. Thanks to the Head Start decorating committee for doing such a tremendous job at Pier A for our event, the Parent Committee for always going that extra mile to make every event so special. Thanks to the HOPES Inc. Board of Directors, the Head Start Policy Council, the HOPES Inc. President/CEO and all Head Start managers, assistants, teachers, custodians, bus driver and cooks for pulling together and making this a wonderful event.
This event was truly successful because of everyone’s combined efforts. Go Team Work!
Thank All of You! Elizabeth Quinones
