Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Traffic Committee of the Downtown Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (DCNA), I would like to thank everyone who responded to our “Pedestrian Safety & Traffic Survey” we conducted earlier this summer. Our informal questionnaire about existing pedestrian safety conditions in downtown Jersey City was distributed by the DCNA through its member associations. The Harsimus Cove Association (HCA) participated along with the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) and Van Vorst Park Association (VVPA). We also received a number of responses from Paulus Hook and the Village. We are in the final process of tabulating the results. The respective neighborhood associations will announce our findings during their upcoming regularly scheduled meetings. We also intend to share the results with the city administration and hope that they would be invaluable in assisting our efforts in making our neighborhood streets better and safer for pedestrians. For more information on how to find out when the final completed results will be announced, please contact your neighborhood association. Once again, thank you. We appreciate your time and participation.
