Dear Editor:
Mayor Dennis Elwell and Town Council, co-workers, all my V.F.W. friends, very close associates and family!
I have served three mayors and administrations. My position as Animal Control and Property Maintenance Officer for 24-hour call for 17 years was a very fulfilling and a happy one. I always stayed above politics because of my leadership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars but our cooperation together was always a friendly and sincere one. I started out of my previous retirement by my appointment by my friend and the Mayor, Paul Amico, with the Secaucus Health Dept. under Richard Manney; his training gave me all phases of my position to protect and make the citizens of Secaucus safe and secure, with the guidance of our Municipal Judges and Courts System as to town codes, we were sworn to uphold.
I enjoyed those years followed by Mayor Anthony Just and our present Mayor Dennis Elwell. I have to report only great successes as Secaucus moved ahead under their and town council guidance with the assistance of our Town Administrator Anthony Iacono. My service and successes working under Department of Public Works Supervisor Mike Gonnelli and his staff has been very fruitful. I have attained my dream of the Secaucus Animal Shelter which is moving onto greater heights. My years as Animal Control and Property Maintenance has seen many changes to the Jewel of the Meadowlands with the sincere action of our town fathers.
To all of you, it is not farewell or goodbye because I will see your friendly faces every day.
Thank you all so much!
Al McClure, A.C.O.
