Dear Editor:
I want to thank the residents of the Sixth Ward who voted for me in the Hoboken City Council election on May 13. I led the voting for City Council in the Sixth Ward in a four-way race with 49 percent of the vote. But because I didn’t get 50 percent of the vote plus one vote, we have a runoff election on June 10.
I believe that I received 49 percent of the vote on May 13 because residents of the Sixth Ward understood that I have a strong commitment to the future of Hoboken and because they are happy with the job I have done as their Councilman for the past two years.
In the next few weeks, you will again see me campaigning in our ward. When you see me in the street or when I knock at your door to ask for your support, I will talk about the issues that affect the future of Hoboken. I will ask my friends and neighbors who voted for me on May 13 to vote for me again. I will also ask Sixth Ward residents who voted for the other candidates to consider casting their votes for me.
Thank you,
Nino Giacchi
Sixth Ward Councilman
