Right behind City Hall in Hoboken will be the home of the city’s hottest new dining experience. From the folks who brought you Willie McBride’s, Buskers Bar and Grill will delight Hobokenites and area residents with an extensive menu, a terrific wine list and cozy atmosphere. The grand opening is Oct. 30 at 4 p.m.
Sean and Maura Hession have assembled an award-winning staff to make the nightlife experience in the mile square city a joyous event.
"We are providing the best of everything for our residents," said Hession.
With a spacious trendy old-fashioned Irish bar, Buskers has a lounge/dining room and a main dining room in the back. The experience is comfortable, upscale and reasonably priced.
The American fusion menu includes crisp lobster rolls ($12), grilled lamb sausage ($9), mixed field and micro greens ($5), oysters ($2.50 a piece), Japanese eggplant in teriyaki sauce with an Italian flair ($15), red snapper in parchment ($22), and a bar menu featuring raw fish, burgers, pizzas and sandwiches. Desserts include Valrhona Chocolate Lava Cake and apple cranberry tart tatin. Buskers will also feature a brunch on the weekends
The wine list is extensive and will consist of a variety of reds and whites.
"This is a place where everybody can come in and enjoy great food in a relaxed setting," Hession said.
The most unique aspect of Buskers is that all the interior items come straight from Ireland. Everything – including the bar, chairs, couches, lamps – came from the old country.
"Authenticity was our main objective," Hession said.
