For really big appetites, there’s the Double, 48 oz. of the same cut of beef, for $29.95. Steaks are served with a side of Arthur’s Famous Potatoes – home fried with onions. Arthur’s, which also has locations in Emerson, Morris Plains, and North Brunswick, has been voted “Best Steak” in New Jersey Monthly’s Readers Choice survey. This steakhouse is also known for its liter mugs of draft beer and its casual atmosphere, billed as an “old-fashioned neighborhood tavern.” And you can’t beat the prices.

Frankie & Johnnie’s occupies a classic corner storefront that dates back to the late 19th century. In fact, the old-school atmosphere was captured on film in On the Waterfront. For Father’s Day, owner Dino Panopoulos recommends the porterhouse for two, $75. What Dad wouldn’t love to share some sirloin and filet mignon? Frankie & Johnnie’s serves Black Angus and USDA Prime steaks. And the vintage setting – including a gleaming cherrywood bar, a pressed-tin ceiling, and great old tile floor – is worthy of a celebration. With its 23 food rating from Zagat, Frankie & Johnnie’s is one of the top-rated steakhouses in New Jersey.

This steakhouse also serves chops, seafood, pasta, and brick-oven pizzas. The action at the pizza oven and the marble bar adds to the casual atmosphere. The menu includes all the classic steaks and chops – aged Prime sirloin, porterhouse, filet mignon, and more. Other favorites include the filet mignon vegetable spring rolls, Gozdz’s signature chopped salad, and lobster. For Father’s Day, Gozdz says you can’t go wrong with the New York sirloin – 16 oz. of aged, boneless beef for $28.
