Oddfellows in Jersey City has karaoke starting at 9 p.m., fueled by an all-night beer special. It’s Ski Club Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m. Sorry – the Psychedelic Furs show at Maxwell’s is sold out.

Bluegrass jam band The Good Life plays Maxwell’s with bluesman David Dondero and McCarthy Trenching, 8:30 p.m., $8 in advance, $10 day of show. Oddfellows in Hoboken has karaoke starting at 9 p.m., along with $4 Hurricanes all night. Rodeo-Ristra’s Metamorphic Original Music Series features Jason Didner, Neil Sabatino, Mike Ferraro, and Rik Mercaldi, 9 p.m., free.
Thursday, July 22:
The raw punk act The Spits play Maxwell’s with Andy G. and the Roller Kings and M.O.T.O., $8 in advance, $10 day of show. The Celtic Eamonn Ryan Band plays at P.J. Ryan’s. Latin jazzman Raphael Cruz plays a free show at Hoboken’s Sinatra Park, 7 p.m.
Friday, July 23:
Jersey City’s garage/punk-influenced Alphamales play Uncle Joe’s with The Great Shakes and Shell Shag. Sorry – the Jay Farrar and Michael Powers show at Maxwell’s is sold out. One-man classic-rock act Greg Aulden performs at the Baja in Jersey City starting at 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 24:
New Brunswick bands Skyline Rodeo and Risk Relay play Uncle Joe’s with Chamisa Mesa. Maxwell’s has local band Chancer (releasing their debut CD, The Fall) with The Pennyroyals and High Speed Chase, 9 p.m., $7. The Shannon has Downshallow, Madjul and Crewman #6.
