The ratings have begun to fall in the world of the WWE so where do they go from here? The WWE is in talks right now to bring wrestling back to the mid 1990’s. With the success of the DX angle still playing out, HHH has decided to call a few friends and see if they want their old jobs back. That’s right folks, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Xpac were all contacted about a possible return to the WWE. What would they be doing? Reforming the most elite group in wrestling history, the New World Order. A feud with DX has been discussed, although nothing is set in stone.
Xpac appeared on a Raw house show last week with DX, while Scott Hall has been training for the past several months for an in-ring return. Kevin Nash’s contract just ran out with NWA-TNA so he is now available as well. If the WWE does this right, it could add excitement. Say by turning John Cena bad and aligning him with the N.W.O.
As you all might have heard by now, Kurt Angle was released by the WWE. The reason being, Angle became too demanding and kept getting injured. You can be demanding in the WWE if you are a star, but once injuries keep creeping up on you the WWE throws you away like yesterday’s trash.
Chris Jericho appeared on Fox’s Celebrity Duets this past month. He was the only celebrity on the show with real band singing experience, and was still the first to be voted off the show. The WWE doesn’t look too bad now, does it Chris?
Christy Hemme, who has been training hard for an in-ring return to TNA, has undergone back surgery. She will be out of commission for 6 weeks. Speaking of TNA, Jeff Jarrett is facing Samoa Joe in a Fan’s Revenge match at No Surrender on the 24th. What is this type of match you might ask? Fourteen lucky TNA fans get to be lumberjacks in this grudge match.
Booker T. signed a new two-year deal with the WWE that will most likely be the last contract of his illustrious career. Back problems have been bothering Booker for about a year now. It is nice to see such a hard worker and genuine nice guy get a push like King Booker has these past six months.
John Cena’s new movie The Marine, which is coming out Oct. 13, was budgeted at a $20 million figure. The WWE is hoping that early buzz from the film will push it to at least the $30 million range. With Robert Patrick co-starring it has to be a lock, doesn’t it?
Carlito has been told by the WWE creative staff to become more like The Rock. The Sixshooter thinks this is a good idea. Too long has the WWE stopped imitating what worked in the past. Nobody wants to see comic characters like Eugene and the Spirit Squad. Fans miss Stone Cold and The Rock. Why not bring them back in other wrestlers?
TNA Impact is supposedly getting a two-hour timeslot in the upcoming months. Spike is very happy with the show so far and is looking to back it fully. Spike TV recently signed Bill Goldberg to a holding contract so he could negotiate with TNA and only TNA.
The WWE has adjusted its drug testing policy. No longer will wrestlers be suspended off of TV for 30-days for violations; instead they will still work but get no pay. Chris Masters, the first offender of the policy, lost 30 pounds of muscle in his time away. There’s no mystery as to what he failed for.
Trish Stratus has walked away from wrestling. TNA put feelers out there to see if she was interested in joining, but she told them no. As for Lita, she is still firmly behind leaving in the next six-months as well. It is very interesting that two of the mainstays of the women’s division will be gone within the same year.
This coming Sunday TNA presents No Surrender featuring the return of Ultimate X. This time it will be for the tag titles. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels will be taking on LAX (Hernandez and Homicide). The Sixshooter has seen every Ultimate X there has been, if you get a chance do not miss it. It is the most entertaining match in wrestling today.
That’s all for this month folks, remember to check me out over on the web at http://www.mattygslife.blogspot.com. We do update often and when wrestling news breaks, you read it there first.
