State of the toll hikes

Governor Corzine’s State of the State address to the residents of New Jersey was an Oscar winning performance. His doom and gloom projection and prediction of the State’s roads; bridges and economy should have been made into a Shakespearean play of tragedy.

Every year, during economic negotiations we are greeted with an explosive, critical decline of budgetary chaos, which always brings bad news of a justified monetary enhancement of unwilling contributions to the overtaxed individual. Every fiscal year we hear the disturbing echo of an increasing never ending deficit raging in the billions. This annual event of financial deficiency ads additional forced levies to each and every taxpayer.

We are told to tighten our belts, live without or reduced legitimate quality of life services, accept constant raises in tolls, fees, licenses and taxes. We are told to administer freely without protest a good percentage of our good hard-earned cash, unselfishly, to a government filled with inefficient and ineffective individuals. These Legislators are obviously clueless in finding any logical solutions, except taxpayer thievery, to bail out and save the State from monetary ruin?

They’re arrogant audacity of dictating and preaching unselfishness, good conscience and generosity, as they conveniently remove themselves from the problems they created. Demonstrating poor management, waste, and the formation of unnecessary high paying positions contributed greatly to these tribulations.

They deliberately administer the blame to their constituents for having the nerve to selfishly use the services they paid for with their tax dollars. The threat of eliminating essential services, or manipulating the fears of increasing potential hazards of life threatening situations are manufactured as tools to escalate and justify additional exorbitant payments.

The State of New Jersey can’t persist in having its entire existence of extravagant needless wasteful spending funded solely by the financially drained taxpayers. The established practices of creating useless politically motivated high income, high perk positions must be sent to oblivion, with a no return ticket.

Now, which is hard to believe there is no funding to repair or replace the bridges, and to uphold proper maintenance of the Turnpike, Parkway, and other roadways, with their possible expansion? These geese have been continuously performing the task of laying golden eggs for the State ever since their conception. Tolls were initially established to pay the bills for the completion of these super highways, and then eventually eliminated. What happened to this original concept?

Recently an unbelievable spark of rebellion has risen from the ashes of despair, which shows obvious signs of growing a backbone. This revolt called “The Flying Pigs Rally”, which was initiated as a pertinent form of protest. Their goal is to have a mass gathering at the Trenton State House, rejecting the unacceptable proposal of increasing tolls. Hopefully this objection will spread with a voice so loud and deafening that it will pierce the drums of ineffectiveness, negligence and ineptitude.
