BYRNES, WILLIAM. Mass for William Byrnes, 82, a native and lifelong resident of Jersey City, was Sept. 17 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Jersey City. He died Sept. 13 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation Center, Bound Brook.
Byrnes owned the Pitcher’s Mound Tavern, Jersey City, from 1993 to 2005. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Mark and Kevin; a daughter, Caryn; three brothers, Donald, Jack, and James, and his wife Midge; a sister, Peggy Overton; and seven grandchildren, Erin, Kevin, Courtney, Louis, Jacqueline, Sofia and Aedan.
