LISA, CATERINA “LENA.” Services for Caterina “Lena” (Romano) Lisa, 85, were held Sept. 10 at St. Ann’s Church, Hoboken. She died at home Sept. 6. Born in Monte San Giocomo, Italy, she moved to Hoboken in 1966. For 20 years until leaving in 1966, Lisa operated a grocery and general store in Monte San Giocomo, Italy. In 1971, she established Lisa’s Italian Delicatessen on Park Avenue in Hoboken, with her husband Pietro and her sons. The deli was recognized as the “Best Italian Restaurant Deli in New Jersey” in New Jersey Monthly magazine. Lisa was a member of the Padre Pio Prayer Group and the Monte San Giocomo Ladies Guild, Hoboken. Survivors include two sons, Angelo, and his wife Maria, and Anthony, and his wife Anna Maria; a nephew, Dominic; a niece, Marietta; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons; and many nieces and nephews in the United States and in Italy.
