Prosecutor Christie to run for gov

Republican Christopher Christie, the former U.S. Attorney known for prosecuting scores of New Jersey politicians during his seven years in office, told supporters this week that he will run for governor. He is likely to face current Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat (and Hoboken resident), and possibly others.
He already has a website up, christiefornj.com, in which he cites his record of going after 130 state officials, and also criticizes the state’s high taxes.
Christie, 46, resigned from his spot in November, giving just two weeks’ notice that he intended to step down on Dec. 1.
