WILLIS, LEONARD

A funeral service was held on Feb. 15 for Leonard Willis, 75. He died Feb. 13 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Paterson. He was born in Brooklyn and lived on Long Island before moving to Hoboken 35 years ago. He worked as Vice President of the Sammeth Exterminating Co., New York, for many years before retiring. He belonged to many civic organizations, but especially The Hoboken Elks Lodge #74 as a former esquire. He was also a member of the former Hoboken Civic Theater and an active member and property manager of the St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church, Hoboken, for many years. He is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” (nee Braaten); his children, Linda Jacino, Theresa Willis and Lisa Willis. He was the brother of the late Frederick Willis and Katherine Wassner. Survivors also include two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service at St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church in the near future will be announced.
