MURACA, GIACOMO “JACK.”

A funeral mass was offered Feb. 28 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Giacomo “Jack” Muraca, 75. He passed away Feb. 24 at the Hoboken University Hospital. He was born in Hoboken and was a lifelong resident. He was a foreman for Maxwell Coffee before retiring in 1992. He had many accomplishments throughout his life but his family and friends always took priority. Jack was a graduate of Demarest High School before going to Arizona State where he played football. From 1954-1959 he played Semi-Pro Football for the WNY Alumni, where he was known as “Jumping Jack” and “Golden Boy.” In 1958 he started Coaching PAL Football. In 1993 he was inducted into the Hoboken Hall of Fame. In 1994 he was honored with the First Annual Ray Dalton Award. In 2007 he was inducted into the Hudson County Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife Anna Muraca; his son Robert Muraca and his wife Karen; his daughters, Jacquelyn Hudock and her husband Stephen, and Michele Addeo and her husband Vincent; his brother Louis Muraca and his wife Enid; his sisters Theresa Muraca and Annette Lenge and her husband Anthony, eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many endeared friends. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
