Weehawken condos to be auctioned starting at $150K

They used to be advertised for as much as $689,000, they’re right off the Weehawken waterfront, and next month, you can cry out on an auction floor to get one of your own.
Among the methods developers are using to sell homes in these tough times is auctioning them off — and just yesterday, it was announced that 16 condos will be auctioned publicly on April 19.
“I have opted to retain Sheldon Good & Company, the nation’s premier auction firm, to sell the remaining inventory quickly at auction, accelerating the sales process so that I can move on to my next project,” said Ernesto Garcia, the developer of the Aristocrat.
The condos are located at 34 48th St. off Blvd. East, so they’re not far from the waterfront. Here’s a MAP, actually.
The auction will take place at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City Hudson 2 Exchange Place. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with the auction commencing at 12 noon.
Want to see the property in advance? Inspections will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, April 4, 5, 11, 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Don’t forget those condo fees you’ll need. They range from $279-$312 monthly for the one-bedroom, one and a half bath; from $308-$312 for the two-bedroom, two bath residence, to a range of $317-$366 for the two-bedroom, two and a half bath residences.
Oh, also, if you win the auction, you’ve gotta have at least a $15,000 cashier’s check to buy. Sure cash isn’t good enough, guys?
